AU SERIES WIRE EDM CUTTERS

Wire EDM is made between 8000°C and 12000°C with a conductive wire. It is a method, which provides cutting of difficult workpieces with a wire electrode in a dielectric liquid bath that removes chips and cools workpiece. Electric energy is used for the process, not cutting force. When the distance between electrode and workpiece is minimized, electric arc forms between them and workpiece is cut off. Flushing (dielectric fluid) is used to reduce temperature during this process. Flushing is applied from the surface of the tool or workpiece to reach machine tool interface.

IN CIRCUIT TEST (I.C.T.)

Accutex's R & D team designed a circuit test that checks each soldering point and ensures that all currents are correctly maintained and that they guarantee high product quality. In this way, measurements of products you will cut with AU-3i machines will be accurate.

The following table shows the machine specifications. You can contact us to get more detailed information about the AU-3i series and other products or to request a quote.

USAGE AREAS OF WIRE EDM

  • It is the most preferred method in mold production.
  • It is used more and more in the aerospace and electronics industries to make prototypes and production parts.
  • It provides the production of medical instruments with a smooth surface.

EDM WIRE TYPES

Wires used as electrodes for cutting can be obtained from different materials. Wire EDM machines usually contain brass, molybdenum, tungsten and copper wire, ranging from 0.05 to 0.4 mm. Below are wire types:

  • Brass Wire
  • Coated Wire
  • Molybdenum Wire
  • Steel Core Wire
  • Diffusion Annealed Wire
  • Tungsten Wire

AU SERIES WIRE EDM CUTTER | ADVANTAGES

  • It enables the production of difficult and complex workpieces with low surface roughness.
  • It makes cutting hard materials very easy.
  • It removes very little wood and immediately removes the formed chips with a dielectric liquid.
  • Since there is no contact between the cutting tool and the workpiece, the EDM ensures that products with extremely thin walls are cut better than milling and turning.
  • Because it can cut complex shapes at once, there is no need for rework costs.
  • Since the tool required for cutting is only wire, no high tooling costs occur.
